We felt the same as the OP when we started this game. Not saying we should get horses below level 40 but some lower class mount would be nice. It would be cool to be able to get a donkey or mule at level(Age of Conan Gold) 26-30. They would not be a fast as a horse but better than running across zones. As someone else said reduce the level for armored horse. Maybe knock basic riding down to level 30 have armored mounts at level 50 and leave swift mounts at level 80.
Just a thought, but it really does not take long to level a toon to 40. We are casual play and have averaged at least a level every 2 hours up to 60, then it slows down. The XP pots helped a lot with our latest toon got to level 50 from 25 in only about 16 hours of game time. It only takes 4-5 hours to get a new toon to 25 once you know the Tortage area and what quests are the most efficient.
